Teti, Antonio (b. 24 APR 1893, d. 7 APR 1983)
Note: According to Rosa Porreca and her sister-in-law Antoinette (Fietta)Porreca, Anthony remained (or returned to ?) Italy. And that hemarried and had at least four children there.

According to Guido Teti, a resident of Roma whose family originated inTorricella, Antonio is the father of Nicola Teti. Guido says thatNicola is his uncle. Here are the words translated from Guido's email:
"Dear Albert
Excuse the delay in answering your message, I was very happy to hear
your news.
I am not relative of AnnaLuigia and Domenica, but I have made this
search for my uncle Teti Nicola, son of Antonio; Antonio is thebrother
of Annaluigia and Domenica.
The nickname of Teti Antonio and sons is MASTARIELL. Teti Antonio
stayed only a few years in America with my grandfather Teti Felice
and then he returned in Italy.
Vincenza is not part of your family SCIPP.
What a pity we did not meet in August 2001. I and my family we were to
Torricella from the 11 August 01 to 2 Sept 01 and there were also
many relatives.
When do you think you will return to Italy? I will bring you to theold
house of your ancestors in Via Solagne di Pennadomo 10,
that is the correct address.
As I said to you at the beginning of the letter, I am not relative ofAnnaLuigia
and Domenica but we have common relatives, because mygreat-grandmother
was named Maria Porreca, born in 1870 and she was part of the familySCIPP.

As soon as I return to Torricella I want to see Mariano Porreca andhis wife.
Angela, Giacomo, Felicia, Annaluigia, and Domenica are all dead?
Are their children alive? I await your answer.
Ciao, Guido"

In April 2004, I and my wife Lee, visited Torricella. We met GuidoTeti, who had known Antonio, and he took me to see the home of mygrandmother at 10 Sologna di Pennadomo. It was half fallen down. Thefarm was quite large with a great view of the Maiella.
Teti Antonio married Porreca Vincenza and had 5 children, two of which
Nicholas and Palmina are still alive. Antonio died approximately 10years ago
and Vincenza approximately 7 years ago. He told me that Antonio'sgrandaughter, Gabriella Teti, was living in Torricella and is the wifeof Donato DiMarino...brother of my friend Marziale DiMarino! We metGabriella several times during the visit, and she gave me a photo ofAntonio and a copy of the will from her ggf Eustachio leaving the farmto all the children. Italina Croce had told me about that in 2001, andthat all of the children in America had agreed to forfeit their shareso that Antonio, who had run the farm, could inherit all of it.Italina indicated that perhaps one child, Palmina, did not relinquishher share.
Subsequent to our April 2004 trip, I was contacted By Maria Tet,Gabriella's Siste. Maria Lives in Switzerland with her husbandGiovanni Porreca (who has the same sop[rannome as me: Scipp!). So hemay be related to me also.

Note: Birth year was provided by Pietro Aspromonte who knew Antonio and hisfamily when he lived in Torricella. Pietro also named Antonio'schildren, whom are probably still living in Torricella. Oldest =Marziale, then Angiolina, Nicola, Palmina, And (he is not sure of thelast) Anna.

Porreca, Angelo (b. 30 APR 1854, d. 30 MAR 1926)
Note: This Angelo Porreca appears as the Capofamiglia of family #693 inStato dell Anime in about 1887. He was a farmer in Torricella, livingon Rua Sansone. Earlier he had a large farm on Stazzo dei Cavalli inContrada Sologna della Taverna. Per Angela diBerardino (in an email toAlbert Porreca 9 Aug 2003) "Rua Sansone is still there. It is thesecond street down from the church, i.e., first Via Roma next to thechurch, then Rua Sansone, which deviates at some point down the blockand becomes Via Ulisse. My great grandfather lived on both!Internet2000 is the internet cafe that I use. It is between Via Romaand Rua Sansone on the Corso, on the same side of the street (right),next to the bank"

.At age 35, in his record of marriage to Giacinta DiMarco (secondwife) in 1889 he is indicated as a "proprietario." He arrived inPhiladelphia at the age of 38, having embarked from Naples on the shipCachemire which arrived in New York on September 8, 1892. Manifest ID# 82181. The manifest indicates he was literate, and traveled Cabinclass. He appears to have been accompanied by two other Porreca'sAnne (age 24) and Domenico (age 25). These may have been cousins orniece/nephew. Another passenger on that trip was Vincenzo D'Ambrosio,22 years old. Vincenzo is possibly the son of Vincenzo D'Ambrosio who, together with an Antonio Porreca, are listed in the Philadelphia CityDirectory 1890, as owners of D'Ambrosio - Porreca Grocers at 761 S.8thSt. in Phila.

Angelo apparently returned to Italy, then made several subsequenttrips to the U.S. According to the microfilm at National Archives inPhila: Manifest shows arrival of ship Rhynland at Port of Philadelphia3 June 1903. Angelo is passenger #28. Details show: he could read andwrite, he was previously in Phila 1899-1902, he is visiting his sonCamillo Porreca at 731 Fitzwater St. There are a number of otherpassengers (from Gessopalena and Torricella) that may be related. Itappears that Angelo had several visits to the USA, includingembarkations at NY: 8 Sep 1892 Cachemire, 13 Jun 1901 Isola DiLevanzo(destination 420 Fitzwater St), and 4 Oct 1907 Konigen Luise(traveling with him were 18 year old Domenico Ficca and 17 year oldMarziale Appolonio), and in Philadelphia 3 Jul 1903 Rhynland.

(Christening, Confirmation, Communion) in the households of the town
in about 1887. Possibly in preparation for a visit to the town from
the Bishop who would administer sacraments. Digital image copies of
the Porreca and Teti families' documents were obtained by Albert
Porreca Jr. in 1999.

Text: OK, early Christmas present - here's what I found:
1) Angela Porreca died March 30, 1926 in Torricella, age 76
2) Rosa Ficca, born June 18, 1856, died Dec. 24, 1888 (married Oct.
15, 1874)
3) Giacinta di Marco, born June 25, 1860, died April 14, 1899 (
married March 31, 1889, not Feb. 17, 1889). Father Luigi.
I had her mother as Filomena Crivelli, which may have been my mistake.
But I found only several Filomena Ficcas as women born from 1837 to
1844 - no Filomena Crivellis at all. What do you have?
4) Maria Giuseppa Teti, born Feb. 6, 1874, died April 21, 1943
(married Nov. 4, 1899). Parents were Rosario Teti and Maria Luigia
Tavani.
Some of this you have:
1) Mariano born dec. 30, 1910, married to Italina Croce January 18,
1930
2) Maria born April 10, 1903
3) Filomena born March 28, 1914 in Hazelton, PA
4) Nicola - can't find
There were no children born (that I could find) from 1899 through
1902.
Former husbands of the wives I will have to find at the Archivio in
Chieti when I go next week, plus Mariano's military record.
Other info:
1) soprannome - Chisse di Cruvello - family of Franchino Teti
- Chisse di Amadi - family of Ersilia Piccone
(this is Elio Porreca's grandmother who just died at 92 years (husband
was Porreca)
2) the Contrada name of Purgatoio is CORRECT. Purgatorio is NOT.
Please change. In fact, according to Pietro Ottobrini at the Comune,
we should not be using Frazioni for ANY of those areas we have listed
on the site (I was right - HA), including Fallascoso. ALL of them
should be listed as Contradas. You can wait and talk with Dan about
this before changing anything, but this is what he told me.
OK, gotta go. Un baccione, Angie
