Elezioni Politiche del 13-14 Aprile 2008

Come risultato globale, vince nettamente la coalizione del Popolo della Libertà (PDL) con 47% dei voti con a capo Silvio Berlusconi, coalizzato con la Lega Nord di Umberto Bossi e con il Movimento per l’Autonomia nel Sud Italia (MPA), mentre il Partito Democratico (PD) di Walter Veltroni, coalizzato con L’Italia dei Valori (IdV) di Antonio Di Pietro, si attesta sul 38%.

Pertanto nella Camera ci saranno (630 seggi):

344 deputati della PDL (Berlusconi + Bossi)

246 deputati del PD (Veltroni + Di Pietro)

36 deputati dell’UDC (Unione di Centro di Pier Ferdinando Casini )

2 deputati del Sud Tirol

1 deputato del Partito Valdostano

Al Senato ci saranno (315 seggi + 7 senatori a vita):

174 senatori del PDL

132 senatori del PD

7 senatori a vita

3 senatori dell’UDC

4 senatori del Sud Tirol

1 senatore del Partito Valdostano

Alleanza Nazionale di Gianfranco Fini insieme a Forza Italia di Silvio Berlusconi e qualche altra piccola formazione hanno costituito il Partito del Popolo della Libertà, PDL, così come il Partito Democratico di Veltroni raggruppa i Democratici di Sinistra (DS) di Massimo D'Alema e Piero Fassino e La Margherita di Francesco Rutelli. Quindi adesso in Italia ci sono due grandi partiti, poi c'è la Lega Nord, coalizzata con PDL, L’Italia dei Valori di Di Pietro coalizzata con il PD, l'UDC dei democristiani di centro. Pertanto in Italia, avremo per la prima volta dai tre ai cinque gruppi parlamentari alla Camera ed al Senato. Dall’inizio della Repubblica, dal “46, è la prima volta e questo è già un gran risultato che ci avvicina alle grandi democrazie mondiali.

In Abruzzo i risultati sono un po’ diversi dal totale dell’Italia, come del resto ogni regione ha la sua peculiarità. Il PDL ha il 43% un po’ di meno ma vince lo stesso; Il PD è intorno al 41%, l’UDC il 7,2% e quindi con la soglia del 8% al Senato non raccoglie nessun senatore in Abruzzo, mentre la Sinistra Arcobaleno di Fausto Bertinotti ha solo il 2,7% e quindi non raggiungendo neanche il 4%, soglia per la Camera, come nel resto d’Italia, non prende nessun senatore e nessun deputato. E’ la prima volta che nella Camera e nel Senato manca una sinistra che si rifà al comunismo.

Nella Provincia di Chieti c’è un pareggio o vince di pochissimo il PD, mentre a Torricella il PD stravince, 54% contro 30%.

Nella tabella seguente vi sono solo i partiti più grandi, l’UDC e la Sinistra Arcobaleno. Mancano gli altri piccoli partitini che raccolgono basse percentuali, intorno allo 0,5-2%.

Political Elections of April 13-14, 2008

To summarize, the People of Freedom (PDL) coalition, with Silvio Berlusconi as leader, won handily with 47% of the vote. Umberto Bossi’s Northern League and the Movement for Southern Italian Autonomy (MPA) were its coalition partners. Walter Veltroni’s Democratic Party (PD), in coalition with Antonio Di Pietro’s Italy of Values (IdV), received 38% of the vote.

As a result, the Chamber of Deputies (630 seats in all) will consist of:

344 deputies from the PDL (Berlusconi + Bossi)

246 deputies from the PD (Veltroni + Di Pietro)

36 deputies from the UDC (Pier Ferdinando Casini’s Union of the Center)

2 deputies from South Tyrol

1 deputy from Val d’Aosta

The Senate (315 seats plus 7 life senators) will be composed of:

168 senators from the PDL

130 senators from the PD

3 senators from the UDC

4 senators from South Tyrol

1 senator from Val d’Aosta

Silvio Berlusconi’s Forward Italy Party (Forza Italia, FI), Gianfranco Fini’s National Alliance (Alleanza Nazionale, AN) and some other smaller factions make up the People of Freedom (PDL). The Democratic Party (PD) brings together the Democrats of the Left (Democratici di Sinistra, DS) of Massimo D’Alema and Piero Fassino and the Daisy Party (La Margherita) of Francesco Rutelli. Therefore, there are now two main parties in Italy, plus the Northern League, in coalition with the PDL, Di Pietro’s Italy of Values, in coalition with the PD, and the UDC made up of middle-of-the-road, former Christian Democrats. Therefore, Italy will only have three to five political groupings in the Senate and Chamber of Deputies. Since the Republic was established in 1946, there have never been so few political groupings represented. This brings Italy more in line with other major world democracies.

The results in Abruzzo were a bit different than in Italy as a whole, as was the case in other regions. The PDL garnered fewer votes, 43%, but still won; the PD received 41%. The UDC received 7.2% of the vote, under the 8% threshold needed to gain a Senate seat; therefore, the UDC will not have a representative from Abruzzo. Fausto Bertinotti’s Rainbow of the Left garnered only 2.7%, not enough to break the 4% threshold needed to gain a seat in the Chamber of Deputies; as in the rest of Italy, the Rainbow of the Left failed to gain a seat in either chamber. As a result, for the first time the Senate and Chamber will be without a left that is a remake of communism.

In the Province of Chieti either there is a tie between the PDL and the PD, or the PD came out slightly ahead. In Torricella the PD won by a large margin, 54% to 30%.
