Poesie - Lelio Porreca

  Abruzzans                                                          Abruzzans

Marinai

Uomini
guadagnano la riva
rigati i polpacci
di sale e di spume
risalgono lenti
la rena
e uno ne manca
trascinano reti
lunghe
e una ne avanza.
Scompaiono verso il tramonto
i loro chiari occhi
sconsolatamente specchiando
ricordate e mai viste
lontananze di sogno.

Pastori

Uomini
discendono la montagna
giganteschi
su cime viola
greggi
parando
mansuete
coi grossi cani.
Coperti di pelli ricciute
nella sera
raggiungono
le oscure grotte.
Si inchinano entrando.
E negli occhi
Si portano il cielo

Sailors

Men
Reach the shore
Their calves striped
With salt and sea-foam
They climb up again slowly
The beach
And one of them is missing
They drag their nets
Long
And one is extra.
They disappear towards the sunset
Their clear eyes
Disconsolately mirroring
Remembered and never seen Dream distances.

Shepherds

Men
Go down the mountain
Gigantic
On violet mountain peaks
Flocks
Protecting themselves
Lamb-like
With their large dogs.
Covered in curly-haired skins
In the evening
They reach
The dark caves.
They stoop on entering
And in their eyes
They carry the sky.

La montagna allora
e il mare
vedi da lontano
morire
nella stretta
di salienti tenebre.

Then the mountain
And the sea
You see from afar
Die
In the grip
Of conspicuous darkness.
